Junior Rangers

Thanks for a wonderful 2008 Junior Ranger Day Camp season! Please check back after January 1 for Summer 2009 details.
Locations in Inwood Hill Park (Northern Manhattan), Marine Park (Brooklyn), Crotona Park (Bronx) & Blue Heron Park (Staten Island)
Imagine your child paddling a canoe in quiet blue waters edged with bright green marsh grass, exploring nature from a whole new perspective. Junior Rangers are immersed in a natural setting, participating in fun and educational activities and games. As a Junior Ranger, your child will canoe, fish, learn to use a map and compass, observe wildlife, and even camp out in the park! This low-cost opportunity continues to be extremely popular around the City, so get your application in today.
*Please note: Inwood Hill, Crotona, and Marine Park are filled, and registration in those camps is closed.
| Teamwork Day | Teambuilding Challenge activities, games and a camp-wide Ranger Relay |
| Nature Day | The Natural Classroom including botany, ecology, and exploring Native American caves and salt marshes |
| Adventure Day | Adventure Camp including fishing, canoeing, and orienteering |
| Conservation Day | Conservation and restoration. Make your mark on the park. Restore trails and build habitats for wildlife. |
| Jr. Ranger Olympics | WrapUp Day! Culminating activities bring together the week's activities with games and prizes. Departing campers receive their Junior Ranger certificates/patches. |
| Add an overnight camp-out option (includes BBQ, night hike, and more) for an additional cost (overnight camp-out cost: $10*). Activities and days of the week they are held may vary. | |
Once you have finished all five outdoor units, you will be a Junior Ranger! Lunch will be provided (Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan only).
