  • Commissioner Stern attends a State Parks Commission meeting at 10 AM in the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building on 125th in Manhattan.

  • Commissioner Stern speaks at the Derek Dilworth/Brookville Tennis Courts Re-naming ceremony at 1 PM today. The courts are located on Brookville Avenue and 144th Street in Queens. More info>>

  • The Deputy Commissioner holds a ParkStat Plus+ session for districts 2 and 9 from the Bronx. ParkStat Plus+ is a comprehensive performance review where district supervisors are held accountable for their Parks Inspection Program ratings. More info>>

  • On December 12, 2001, the City's Franchise and Concession Review Committee (FCRC) voted unanimously to allow Parks to enter into a sole source agreement with the Prospect Park Alliance to operate concessions at the Kate Wollman Center in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The concession will include ice skate rental, skating instruction, boat rentals, a snack bar, and gift shop.
  • On December 13, Management Services staff attended a mandatory training on the City's Conflict of Interest policies.
  • Staten Island hosts a tree lighting ceremony in Tappen Park at 5 PM. Tappen Park is located on Canal Street and Wright Street.

  • On Saturday, December 15, Commissioner Stern speaks at the Queens Greenstreet Groundbreaking ceremony at 11 AM. The site is off Francis Lewis Boulevard at 23rd Avenue. More info on Greenstreets>>

  • Sunday, December 16:

    -Commissioner Stern launches the Central Park bird count at 8 AM at the Central Park Reservoir south of the pump house. More info>>

    -Commissioner Stern dedicates the Battle of the Bulge Memorial in Wolfe's Pond Park 11 AM. The Park is located on Hylan Boulevard and Cornelia Avenue in Staten Island. More info>>

    -Erin Brockovich joins Commissioner Stern as he speaks at the East River Park Amphitheater ribbon cutting 1 PM. The amphitheater is located off of Montgomery Street and the FDR.
