- Commissioner Stern celebrates the installation
and dedication of Baroque Trajectory, a sculpture
by Michael Poast at 11:30 AM today. The sculpture
is located at Trinity Place, Greenwich and
Morris Streets. More

- Bid documents are available for contractor
pick-up for the Reconstruction of Knickerbocker
Park in Brooklyn. Bids are due from contractors
on December 19. The bid documents are located
at the Olmsted Center in Flushing Meadows
Corona Park, Flushing, New York 11368.
- Commissioner Stern reviewed and approved
preliminary design plans for the reconstruction
of a portion of Brower Park in Brooklyn. The
park is located at St. Marks, Kingston Avenue,
and Park Place. More

- Bronx paints the comfort station at Noble
Playground in an effort to convert all
comfort stations from brick red to the new
green. The Noble Playground Comfort Station,
located at East 179th Street Noble and Bronx
River Avenues, is the fifth Bronx site to
be painted the new green.
- Brooklyn Sign Shop began fabrication of
small metal signs for the Daffodil project.
Signs are used to mark bulb beds that were
planted this fall as a memorial for the September
11th tragedy.

- On Tuesday, November 27, Queens Borough
Commissioner and the Chief of Administrative
Services held a meeting in the Arsenal with
Planning and Design to discuss the plans of
the new Shea Stadium construction in preparation
for the final Art Commission approval. The
group discussed possible parking locations
inside Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and in
the surrounding areas including the area under
the Whitestone Bridge leading up to the Harper
Street DOT facility. The possibility of adding
garages at a later date was also discussed.
- The Parks Academy held a training class
yesterday on mailroom safety procedures for
personnel who handle and process the agency's
mail. The guidelines and precautions in this
seminar were based on recommendations from
the Center for Disease Control and the U.S.
Postal Service.
- Staten Island crews install natural history
signs providing information on wetlands, Horseshoe
Crabs and Monarch butterflies at parks throughout
the borough.
