Deputy Commissioners' Offices

The Deputy Commissioner for Operations is responsible for the maintenance and operations of all Parks' facilities, including the introduction of managed competition into Parks' field maintenance, building maintenance, and trades. The Deputy Commissioner for Management is in charge of securing Parks' share of the city budget, negotiating with labor unions, and supervising the Recreation division and the workfare program. As an intern, you will attend and draft minutes of meetings with agency officials, draft memorandum for the Deputy Commissioners' signatures, and act as a liaison to the many divisions these Deputy Commissioners supervise.
