G.I.S. Field Mapping Interns

The GIS division in Parks is seeking students interested in participating in a number of ongoing field mapping projects. Students will survey Parks properties throughout the five boroughs, and map features using handheld computers and GPS technology. Job duties will include mapping and documenting monuments and historical art, surveying park locations and boundaries, and detailing the water source infrastructure of spray shower, water fountains and other hydrological features.

Qualifications: Interns must be willing to spend time outdoors and on their feet for a good part of the day. Experience with GIS, CAD, or surveying techniques is a big plus.
