Jamaica Bay Horseshoe Crab Festival
at Sunset Cove, Queens

We're back with the 8th Annual Jamaica Bay Horseshow Crab Festival, which celebrates the ancient mating ritual of these charismatic “Living dinosaurs” that come to our shores each year, helping provide a vital food source for migrating shorebirds like the endangered Red knot!
Attendees will meet at Sunset Cove Park, where the event will begin with a few activities. We will then meet the ancient “crabs” in person at the beach. Kids are welcome!
We encourage you to ride-share or take local public transportation down to the beach.
